Sweet Home Ambulance and Fire District’s Station 22 and 23 occupied seismic retrofit grant projects were each broken into 3 distinct phases to track the work and ensure this project was completed on time, while maintaining mission ready operational status throughout construction. Our crews self-performed the concrete work, steel moment frames, and wood framed seismic upgrades holdowns, plywood diaphragm re-nailing,shear walls, diaphragm ties, and roof strapping to strengthen the building. Our team tracked the retrofit work at each site by interior seismic work, exterior seismic work, and roof seismic work – this breakdown of the work enabled apparatus egress to be coordinated daily. Crews utilized steel plates to bridge footing excavations across the apparatus driveway to install the moment frames and worked with the Battalion Chiefs to move the apparatuses out of each bay when the overhead doors were replaced, one per day to maintain station readiness.

Let's talk about your project.
