This project utilized a detailed phasing plan and required a great deal of communication with the Hotel’s staff to allow construction to be successfully completed while the facility remained opened to their guests. Construction started on the ground floor when crews remodeled the lobby, first floor elevators, conference rooms, and created the new Bottle + Kitchen restaurant. Antique design elements and reclaimed materials were tied in with modern design elements to
transform first level of the hotel into a truly unique space. Phase 2 construction then moved to the 2nd floor and was completed on a floor by floor basis to complete this phase of the project at the 5th and final floor. The waterfront property boasts a fresh new look in their Guest Suites with hardwood floors throughout the living areas, bedrooms, and dining areas, new stone tile floors and walls in the bathrooms, custom casework and countertops, new wall-hung sliding doors, designer wall and window coverings, and sheik furniture and light fixtures to make these modern rooms flourish. Moving from floor to floor, the corridors have been retrofitted with new carpet, Cintiva flooring tiles at the elevator lobbies, new wall coverings, custom art decals, unique art
pieces, an extensive amount of finish carpentry trim work, and decorative lighting. The 3rd and final phase consisted of a complete exterior overhaul. The building was patched and repaired to its original condition, new custom fabricated canopies, and fresh paint with vibrant yellow accents across the entire exterior were added to ensure the revitalized building would be an iconic Portland destination.
