Gates Fire Station
Client: Gates Rural Fire Protection District
Architect: Surround Architecture Inc.
This 7,900 square foot wood-framed structure serves the residents of Gates, Oregon and nearby recreational areas in the foothills of the Cascades. The building features three engine bays, open ceilings with large glulam beams, training and service areas, community meeting rooms, as well as, offices, bathrooms, and shower facilities for the firefighters. The facility achieved a LEED Gold Certification which featured local resourcing of materials and more than 85% of debris being recycled from the field.
