Vancouver Police Precinct
Client: Vancouver Police
Architect: Mackenzie Architects
A distinct facility built to reflect the priorities of a modern public safety building. Plaza area opens to adjacent park that was developed in cooperation with the Vancouver Parks Department. Project savings allowed for construction of covered parking in addition to the outdoor parking area. Building features entry lobby, community room, a briefing room for roll call and line-up, shift preparation offices, bunk rooms, lunchroom and report writing area. In case of emergency the facility is sustainable for three days; building also includes back up systems for city-wide phone services. Also includes offices for detectives and administrative personnel.
